6. Activity instructions
The name of this activity is ’20 Questions Game’. Doing a guessing game in which students try to identify an avatar in 20 questions or less with using the rules that they’ve
learned. Let me briefly tell you the main steps that students have to follow during this
activity. (6 steps)

1) First, pair up with the student sitting next to you.
2) I will pass out a tablet PC to one of two, and one has a avatar on the tablet and one doesn’t.
* The student with a tablet is student A, and the student without a tablet is student B.
Both can listen to the avatar’s voice, but student B cannot see the monitor(appearance of avatar).

3) Student B takes the role of giving yes or no questions and wh- questions about the avatar
on student A’s tablet PC. For example, student B can give questions like
“Does he have beard?” or “What is his/her hair color?”.

4) Then, student A can answer to the questions student B asks.
5) After student B finishes guessing who is the avatar, and then take turns.
(Avatar can be a famous person such as Donald Trump, Gandi and so on.)
6) The winner will be the person who guess the avatar using fewer questions.

<Self Reflection>
At the moment, using Voki in the classroom may be regarded as ‘new’ activity for students. Trying ‘new’ activities can lead to uncovering a new hidden interest and motivation in learning process, and developing the skills of spontaneity in learning which is seen as the natural companion of interest. Therefore, I’m sure that using Voki in a speaking activity can enhance students’ motivation and interest toward the learning contents. While making an avatar, I thought that it can also help students enhance their English pronunciation. In Korean educational environment, there are many English teachers whose English pronunciation is not good, so in this case, I think Voki avatar can be a great English pronunciation guidance for Korean students. If I have more time to design activities using Voki, I want to think about many other creative ways using Voki avatar.
